Flood Mitigation Task Force Moves to Weija, Mallam and Laboma for Phase Two

The Flood Mitigation Task Force is preparing to begin the second phase of its dredging and demolition exercise in Weija, Mallam and the Laboma area as part of efforts to reduce the risk of severe flooding.
The team has already started removing structures built along waterways and drainage channels in affected communities.
Officials say activities within buffer zones that obstruct the free flow of water will not be tolerated, stressing that the exercise is aimed at improving drainage and protecting lives and property.
