UN chief: AI cannot be a club

AI cannot be a club for the rich and powerful, UN Secretary-General António Guterres tells CGTN's Tian Wei as this year's World Artificial Intelligence Conference wrapped up. The UN's top priority now, he said, is to build AI capacity in developing countries, urging nations to build bridges, not barriers, when shaping the future. He also welcomed China's open-source large language models as a way to help the developing world harness AI responsibly, and offered a view on what "people-centered AI" truly means.
