Pressure Mounts on Ejisu MCE as Assembly Members Demand Her Exit

Members of the Ejisu Municipal Assembly have intensified calls for the removal of Municipal Chief Executive Jerryne Asante, giving her one week to resign voluntarily or be removed from office by President John Dramani Mahama.
The demand follows a failed attempt by Assembly Members to hold an emergency sitting to initiate a vote of no confidence against the MCE after the Assembly auditorium was found locked.
Addressing the media after the aborted meeting, the Assembly Members expressed disappointment over the development and reaffirmed their decision to give the MCE a seven-day ultimatum.
George Kuntu Blankson, Assembly Member for the Kwamo Electoral Area, said the 28 elected Assembly Members had reached a consensus on the way forward.
