Manhyia North MP Criticises Ato Forson’s Mid-Year Budget Priorities

The Member of Parliament for Manhyia North, Akwasi Konadu, has criticised the Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, for placing what he describes as excessive emphasis on macroeconomic stability at the expense of the livelihoods of Ghanaians.
Speaking to Channel One News after the presentation of the 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review, Mr. Konadu argued that while the Akufo-Addo administration could have prioritised reducing inflation and strengthening foreign reserves, it instead focused on creating jobs and improving living standards.
He maintained that the current government's pursuit of macroeconomic stability is not translating into better living conditions for ordinary Ghanaians.
