BoG Advisor Urges More Spending on Roads Ahead of Mid-Year Budget Review

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson is expected to present the 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review to Parliament today.

The review is expected to provide an update on the implementation of the 2026 Budget and outline proposed fiscal policy adjustments.

Ahead of the presentation, Advisor to the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. John Kwakye, has urged the government to increase spending on roads and other infrastructure.

Speaking to Citi News, Dr. Kwakye also called for improved domestic revenue mobilisation to create more fiscal space for development projects, stressing that sustained investment in infrastructure is essential for strengthening Ghana's economy.
