Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang says government is committed to strengthening local governance by providing Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) with the resources needed to drive development and improve service delivery.
Speaking at the Sister Cities International 70th Anniversary Homecoming Conference in Washington, D.C., the Vice President said the GH¢4.4 billion allocation to the District Assemblies Common Fund in the 2025 Budget reflects government's commitment to empowering local authorities under its Reset Agenda.
She emphasised that strengthening local institutions remains key to achieving inclusive development and delivering better outcomes for communities across Ghana.
