Members of the Ejisu Municipal Assembly have given Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Jerryne Asante a one-week ultimatum to resign or face removal by President John Dramani Mahama.
The call follows the failure of the Assembly members to hold an emergency meeting to pass a vote of no confidence in the MCE after the Electoral Commission was unavailable to oversee the process and the Assembly auditorium was locked.
The Assembly members have accused the MCE of alleged administrative lapses and are calling for action to address their concerns.
