China-US youth bridge cultures in Zhoushan

The 2026 "Hi, Young" China-US Youth Cultural Exchange Camp was held in Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province, from July 2 to 6. Fifty-three American teachers and students joined more than 100 Chinese participants for hands-on cultural experiences, from ocean-themed paper-cutting, fishing-knot tying, pottery and tea culture to traditional Chinese medicine, maritime vocational education and dragon boat activities. They also played friendly table tennis and basketball matches, visited universities and rural communities, and spoke face to face with Chinese students and grassroots representatives. Building on more than three decades of sister-city ties between Zhoushan and Richmond in the US, young people from both countries carried forward a new chapter of people-to-people friendship.
