Fire Destroys Adoma Fashion Training Centre in Kumasi

A fire outbreak has destroyed the Adoma Fashion Training Centre at Top High in Kumasi, destroying sewing equipment, materials and other items worth thousands of cedis.

The fire started at about 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026. Personnel from the KNUST and Asokore Mampong Fire Stations responded after receiving a distress call at 7:40 a.m., spending nearly an hour bringing the blaze under control and preventing it from spreading to nearby shops and homes.

The cause of the fire is yet to be established, with the Ghana National Fire Service launching investigations.

The centre, which trained at least 30 apprentices and workers, has been left in ruins.

Secretary of the school, Adom May, said the fire started suddenly without warning. She explained that although they attempted to switch off power and use a fire extinguisher, the flames spread too quickly.
