President John Dramani Mahama has called on the African Union (AU) to take a keen interest in recurring xenophobic attacks targeting African nationals in South Africa.
Speaking on the issue, President Mahama said such matters must be openly discussed rather than ignored, stressing that addressing the root causes is necessary to find lasting solutions.
He noted that a delegation from South African President Cyril Ramaphosa engaged him on the matter, and he emphasised the need for continental dialogue through the AU.
