Ghana’s Basic Schools to Teach AI, Coding and Electronics Under Revised Curriculum

The Ministry of Education has given the Ghana Education Service (GES) one week to ensure full implementation readiness for the revised curriculum for Kindergarten to Primary Six pupils.

The directive follows the presentation of the revised curriculum to the Minister for Education by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA).

The updated curriculum introduces subjects and skills including coding, electronics, ethics, artificial intelligence (AI) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to better prepare learners for the future.

Speaking to the media, Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu expressed confidence that the revised curriculum will achieve its intended objectives.
