Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu has directed the Ghana Education Service (GES) to prioritise the recruitment of Ghanaian language teachers in its upcoming recruitment exercise.

According to the Minister, the move is necessary to support the implementation of the revised curriculum, which makes the teaching of Ghanaian languages compulsory from Kindergarten to Primary Three.

Haruna Iddrisu noted that many schools across the country face a shortage of qualified Ghanaian language teachers, making targeted recruitment essential to ensure the successful rollout of the curriculum.
