The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has directed the Ghana Education Service (GES) to prioritise the recruitment of Ghanaian language teachers in its upcoming recruitment exercise.

The call follows the approval of the revised curriculum for Kindergarten to Primary Six, which makes the teaching of Ghanaian languages compulsory from Kindergarten to Primary Three.

According to the Education Minister, the country faces a shortage of Ghanaian language teachers, making it essential for the GES to recruit more qualified educators to support the successful implementation of the new curriculum.
