The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has shut down 44 food manufacturing facilities, including sachet water production companies and cold stores, during a nationwide enforcement exercise aimed at ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.

The Authority says the action is part of efforts to protect public health by ensuring that food businesses operate under hygienic conditions and obtain the required licences before production.

The enforcement exercise highlights the FDA's commitment to strengthening food safety standards and safeguarding consumers across Ghana.
