How China is helping Latin America compete in the global AI race

Currently, the U.S. and China account for the majority of global AI spending.  Latin America as a whole accounts for less than two-percent.

However, the founding of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization  (WAICO) -- including Brazil, Cuba, and Venezuela -- opens the door for Latin American nations to narrow the gap.

CGTN's Elaine Reyes spoke to Daniel Trejo Medina, Professor at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, for insight into China's AI cooperation with Latin America.
