Health Ministry DEBUNKS Fake Ebola Outbreak Claims in Ghana

The Ministry of Health has dismissed a false publication circulating on social media that claims Ghana has recorded 2,300 Ebola cases and 930 deaths.

In a press release, the Ministry said the report, falsely attributed to the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), is inaccurate and misleading.

The Ministry also clarified that recent visits by Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh to points of entry, laboratories and treatment facilities were part of routine public health preparedness measures and not in response to an Ebola outbreak.

The public has been urged to rely only on official updates from the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service, and to avoid sharing unverified information that could cause unnecessary panic.
