Ghana SCRAPS Minimum Capital Requirement for Foreign Investors

Foreign investors will no longer be required to meet minimum capital thresholds before establishing businesses in most sectors of Ghana's economy.

The reform follows the elevation of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) to an authority after presidential assent of the new Ghana Investment Promotion Centre Act.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA), Simon Madjie, said the change removes one of Ghana's most debated investment requirements as the country seeks to improve its attractiveness as an investment destination.

The new framework is expected to simplify investment processes and encourage more foreign participation in Ghana's economy.
