Woman violently attacked by partner saved by calling 999 and hiding phone in plants | BBC News
A woman who was almost killed in an attack but whose 999 call helped save her life has seen her former partner sentenced to 20 years in prison for attempted murder. After months in a coercive relationship, Caz Goddard said she finally asked James Stock to leave her home near Weston-super-Mare, UK in July last year. The next thing she remembered was Stock knocking her to the floor and strangling her. Caz was on the phone to the police when she was assaulted, and managed to hide her phone in some plants so the entire call was recorded. This report contains distressing content.
