Wang Guan: West must stop pouring fuel on fire on South China Sea

On July 20, Philippine personnel from an illegally grounded vessel aggressively harassed a small China Coast Guard patrol boat near China's Ren'ai Jiao. Yet while the West swiftly backed Manila, it largely ignored another video showing Chinese maritime personnel allowing a Philippine vessel carrying an injured serviceman to pass for medical treatment. CGTN's Wang Guan argues that facts should never be selective and truth should never be edited. He asks why Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s China policy shifted so dramatically after visiting Washington and whether his family's legal vulnerabilities in the United States have become an unseen factor shaping Manila's South China Sea policy.
