US and Iran face return to all-out war as conflict escalates | BBC News
Iran and the US appear to be returning to all-out war, after 10 nights of escalating US airstrikes, and growing Iranian reprisals.
The Pentagon has confirmed that almost 100 US service personnel have been injured in the conflict in the past fortnight, while three US soldiers have been killed.
Iran's revolutionary guards have targeted US military sites in Kuwait and Bahrain and carried out more attacks on tankers in the strait of Hormuz. Commercial shipping through the key shipping lane has again come to a standstill, putting further pressure on global energy supplies.
Yemen's Houthis, who are backed by Iran, have announced a maritime embargo against Saudi Arabia, further threatening transit of oil and natural gas.
