ECG Announces Temporary Power Interruptions During Kumasi Grid Upgrade

Residents and businesses in Kumasi and surrounding communities should expect temporary power interruptions as the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) begin a three-month upgrade of the Kumasi–Anwomaso transmission lines.
The project, which commenced today, is expected to strengthen electricity infrastructure and improve the reliability and capacity of power supply in the Ashanti Region.
Speaking to Channel One News, ECG General Manager for External Relations, Dr. Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku, said the upgrade has become necessary due to the region's growing population and increasing demand for electricity.
