Bawumia: Tribunals Bill Won't Fix Congested Courts | Calls for More Judges Instead
NPP Flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia says the recently passed Tribunals Bill is not the answer to the challenges facing Ghana's judicial system.
Addressing the nation, Dr. Bawumia argued that while Ghana's courts are congested, the solution is to strengthen the existing court system by appointing more judges, building more courtrooms and digitising judicial processes—not by creating what he described as a "second system of justice."
He maintained that meaningful judicial reforms should focus on improving the efficiency of the courts while preserving public confidence in the justice system.
