President John Dramani Mahama has ruled out any possibility of seeking a third term in office, stating that his priority is to fulfil the promises he made to Ghanaians after receiving a mandate to serve one additional term.
Speaking on the ongoing legal action seeking the Supreme Court's interpretation of the constitutional provision on presidential tenure, President Mahama said he believes the relevant clause is clear.
However, he welcomed the decision by citizens to seek judicial clarification on the matter, emphasising the importance of allowing constitutional questions to be settled through due process.
