Above the LAW? SCOTUS can't seem to figure out a basic ethics code

Supreme Court Justices Elena Kagan and Amy Coney Barrett testified before Congress, fielding questions about the Court's ethics code. Their testimony comes as a majority of Americans now support reforms to the Supreme Court. Law professor James Sample argues the justices' resistance to enforcing the code raises the question of whether they see themselves as "infallible” and “above the law," adding that Justice Thomas, in particular, "has contempt for the idea that he is subject to any regulation." Legal writer Chris Geidner adds some justices have turned the question of, “who would enforce an ethics code,” into a reason not to create one.
