The Bekwai Circuit Court in the Ashanti Region has sentenced a 37-year-old security man, Mohammed Abubakari alias Wofa Abu, to 15 years imprisonment with hard labour for defiling an 8-year-old girl at Anyinam near Ahenema Kokoben.

The court found the accused guilty after he admitted the offence in his caution statement during police investigations.

According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on June 27, 2026, when the accused allegedly lured the victim and her friend into his security post under the pretext of sending them on an errand.

The matter was reported to police on July 11, 2026, after the victim disclosed the incident. A medical examination conducted at the Suntreso Government Hospital confirmed injuries consistent with the reported assault.

Presiding judge His Honour Isaac Appiatu subsequently sentenced Mohammed Abubakari to 15 years in prison with hard labour.
