Police in the Upper West Region have launched investigations after the body of a baby boy was discovered in a refuse dump near Sem-B Hotel in Wa.

The grim discovery was made on Friday morning by a cleaner at the facility while carrying out her routine duties.

The Assembly Member for the area, Adams Yahaya Gigah, described the incident as disturbing and assured residents that measures would be explored to help prevent similar occurrences.

Authorities are expected to continue investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death.
