Oil Marketers Demand Removal of LPG Taxes Over Rising Prices

The Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC) is reiterating calls for the removal of taxes on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), arguing that the levies are contributing to rising costs and limiting wider adoption of the product.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Ghana International Petroleum Conference, Board Chairman of COMAC, Gabriel Kumi, said government should consider removing the taxes or introducing subsidies to make LPG more affordable for consumers.
He said reducing the cost of LPG will encourage more households to adopt the cleaner cooking fuel and support broader energy access across the country.
