The Ministry of Health says available data shows that hospital bed occupancy in Ghana currently stands at 60 percent, dismissing claims of a widespread “no-bed syndrome” in health facilities.
Appearing before Parliament's Economy and Development Committee, Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah said the issue requires an effective bed management system rather than additional claims of inadequate bed availability.
She explained that improving coordination and management of available hospital beds is key to ensuring patients receive timely care.
