Konongo-Odumasi Crash: D3ath Toll Rises to 13 After More Body Recovered

The death toll from the multi-vehicle crash at Konongo-Odumasi on the Kumasi-Accra Highway has risen to 13 after security personnel retrieved another body from the wreckage.

The incident had earlier claimed 12 lives and left 44 others with varying degrees of injuries.

Speaking to Channel One News, the Konongo Divisional Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) Commander, ASP Frank Asare Awuah, said eight of the injured victims have since been treated and discharged, while those still receiving care are responding to treatment.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation as investigations into the cause of the crash progress.
