Former Ghana Water Company Limited Managing Director, Dr. Ing. Clifford Braimah, has defended his decision to contest the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Savannah Regional Chairmanship race despite calls for younger aspirants to take up leadership roles.
Responding to questions about his candidacy, Dr. Braimah compared the party's current situation to a patient in an intensive care unit, arguing that it requires the expertise of an experienced leader to restore it.
He also rejected suggestions that he is only known as a financier of the party, explaining that his contributions have been his way of giving back after being given the opportunity to serve in government.
Dr. Braimah highlighted his previous roles as Northern Regional Secretary of the NPP, a member of the party's National Council, and Co-Chair of the Water and Sanitation Subcommittee as evidence of his preparedness to lead the Savannah Regional branch.
