Kumasi Power Crisis Ahead? GRIDCo Begins 3-Month Upgrade of Anwomaso Transmission Line

GRIDCo and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) will begin a major three-month upgrade of the Kumasi-Anwomaso transmission line on Monday, July 20. The 1,000-megawatt project is expected to improve power supply reliability in Kumasi and surrounding communities but may result in temporary outages during construction. Energy Minister Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor has urged residents to support the project, warning that delays could put the national grid at risk.
