GRIDCo Expands Kumasi Power Capacity with Ahodwo Substation Upgrade | Ghana News

As part of the Kumasi–Anwomaso transmission line upgrade, the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) will also upgrade transformers at the Ahodwo Substation, which supplies electricity to Kumasi's central business district and surrounding residential communities.
GRIDCo Chief Executive Officer Frank Otchere explained that increasing the transmission line's capacity requires a corresponding upgrade of the substation to safely handle the additional power.
The works form part of a broader effort to strengthen electricity supply and improve the reliability of the power grid in Kumasi.
