The Chief Justice, Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, has described the confidence Ghanaians repose in the Supreme Court as the judiciary's greatest treasure.
Speaking at the opening of a lecture series at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Supreme Court of Ghana, Justice Baffoe-Bonnie said the strength of the judiciary lies not in its buildings or history, but in the trust of the Ghanaian people.
He stressed that every person who appears before the courts must be assured of fair and impartial justice, adding that the anniversary presents an opportunity to reaffirm the judiciary's commitment to fairness, justice and the rule of law.
The Chief Justice also acknowledged the important role of traditional authorities in resolving disputes and maintaining peace within communities.
