A retired Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice William Atuguba, has questioned the rationale behind Ghana's 276 parliamentary seats, asking what benefit the large number of lawmakers has brought to citizens.
Speaking at the D.F. Annan Memorial Lecture, Justice Atuguba raised concerns about the size of Parliament and the value it provides to the Ghanaian public.
His comments come amid broader discussions on governance reforms, public expenditure and the effectiveness of state institutions.
