International Maritime Hospital CRIES Over Outdated Equipment, Staff Shortage

Management of the International Maritime Hospital has raised concerns over challenges affecting the facility, including the lack of replacement of old medical equipment and inadequate staff strength.

During an engagement with Parliament's Health Committee on the second day of its monitoring visit, the Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, Dr. Vitus Victor Anaab-Bisi, said most of the equipment installed since the facility began operations about a decade ago have now become obsolete.

He noted that the situation is affecting the hospital's ability to provide efficient healthcare services, while staffing limitations continue to add pressure to operations.

The Health Committee's monitoring exercise is aimed at assessing challenges facing healthcare institutions and identifying areas requiring urgent intervention.
