The Chairman of Parliament's Health Committee, Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane, is advocating for an upgrade of the International Maritime Hospital under the NHIS tariff system to support improved healthcare delivery.
The call follows concerns raised by management of the facility over challenges including outdated medical equipment and inadequate staff strength.
Dr. Nawaane believes reviewing the hospital's position within the NHIS tariff structure will help strengthen its operations and enable it to provide better services to patients.
The Health Committee made the remarks during its monitoring visit to assess the challenges facing healthcare institutions across the country.
