Syria shoots down weapons shipment reportedly headed for Hezbollah in Lebanon
Syrian authorities announced they intercepted a shipment of weapons including long-range missiles and drones at the border crossing with Iraq, Al Tanf.
The shipment was intended for Hezbollah in Lebanon, a significant development under the new leadership of Ahmad al-Sharaa after the fall of the Assad government, officials said.
The seizure came as traditional regional supply routes come under increased scrutiny and international pressure.
Hezbollah has rejected the accusations, describing the allegations as fabricated and denying any suggestion that it operates in Syrian territory.
