Orphanage fire in Algeria kills 11 people, including children, amid heatwave

At least 11 people, including children, have been killed after a fire tore through an orphanage in Algiers, with 19 others injured. Officials say some victims were so badly burned that DNA testing will be needed to confirm identities, while investigators work to determine the cause of the blaze. The fire comes as Algeria battles an intense heatwave, with authorities responding to more than 900 fires nationwide in the past week alone, deploying thousands of firefighting personnel and aircraft. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has offered condolences to the victims' families.
