GES Watchmen Protest 14-Year Overtime Arrears, Demand Payment Plan

Members of the Security and Watchmen Association of the Ghana Education Service (GES) are protesting delays in the payment of their weekend and public holiday overtime allowances, which have been outstanding since 2012.

The association, which operates under TEWU-TUC, says several engagements with government to settle the arrears have not yielded any positive outcome.

The members are calling on the government to provide a clear payment plan for the settlement of the outstanding allowances.

Speaking to the media, the General Secretary of the Association stressed the need for authorities to address the concerns of affected workers.
