The Minority in Parliament has opposed the decision by First Deputy Speaker Bernard Ahiafor to hold the Bank of Ghana (BoG) Governor's briefing to Parliament behind closed doors.

The decision followed a request by the Majority Caucus for the Committee of the Whole sitting with BoG Governor Dr. Johnson Asiama to be held in camera.

The Minority has raised concerns over transparency and Parliament's oversight role, arguing that the media and the public should have access to proceedings involving issues of national interest.

The BoG Governor appeared before Parliament to respond to questions on the central bank's foreign exchange interventions and related matters.
