President John Dramani Mahama has begun a two-day Resetting Ghana Tour of the Volta Region.
The working visit will see the President engage local communities, inspect development projects, and discuss key initiatives aimed at driving growth and improving livelihoods across the region.
During the tour, President Mahama announced that government is finalising processes to compensate persons affected by the 2023 Akosombo Dam spillage, assuring that the exercise will be conducted fairly to ensure victims receive the support due them.
He also revealed plans to revive and modernise the defunct Juapong Textiles Factory, with government working to secure an investor and exploring arrangements to ensure a steady supply of raw materials.
The President further announced that construction of the Volivo Bridge project is expected to begin before the end of the year following the selection of a new contractor.
