Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu, has accused some police officers within the Konongo and Bekwai Police Divisions of allegedly colluding with illegal miners.
She says overlapping police jurisdictions have hampered efforts to effectively tackle illegal mining activities in the municipality.
The MCE is calling for improved coordination among security agencies to strengthen the fight against galamsey and protect Ghana's natural resources.
