“Meet Society’s Greatest Needs” — Vice President’s Message to Churches

Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has called on churches to undertake projects that address critical gaps in society rather than duplicating existing interventions.

Speaking at Accra Ridge Church's 90th Anniversary Lecture II, themed "Repositioning the Church for National Transformation: Faith, Education and Holistic Renewal in Ghana," she urged religious organisations to carefully assess national needs before investing in new projects.

The Vice President said churches should focus on areas where government and the private sector have not adequately met public needs.

Using tertiary education as an example, she proposed greater collaboration among churches to establish institutions that respond to existing educational gaps instead of simply expanding infrastructure.
