Hochul to AI companies: ‘Bring your own power source’ or pay premium

On Tuesday, Gov. Kathy Hochul, D-NY, signed an executive order pausing the construction of data centers. She tells Morning Joe the pause is “for us to get it right” and warns of the impact of the centers on the state's energy and water supply. Hochul says AI companies should supply their own power or be subject to pay a premium to use New York's grid.
