Lands Minister VOWS to End ‘Goro Boys’ Menace With Technology

The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources says it is taking steps to eliminate the activities of middlemen popularly known as “goro boys” at the Lands Commission.

The sector Minister, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, said modern technology provides an opportunity to end practices that have affected efficiency and public access to land administration services.

The reforms form part of efforts to improve the processing of land registration applications, with the Lands Commission targeting a one-month turnaround time for applications.

The initiative is being implemented through the Strategic Land Administration Reform Project (SLAP), which seeks to modernise Ghana's land administration system through expanded digital service delivery.
