Banking Consultant Richmond Atuahene says the Bank of Ghana (BoG) could have prevented the current Zeepay situation if it had intervened earlier.
His comments follow the central bank's decision to revoke Zeepay Ghana Ltd's Dedicated Electronic Money Issuer (DEMI) licence over regulatory breaches.
Dr. Atuahene acknowledged measures announced by the BoG to protect affected customers but argued that earlier regulatory action could have helped avert the situation.
