The Security and Watchmen Association of the Ghana Education Service (GES) is demanding the payment of weekend and public holiday overtime allowances that have remained in arrears since 2012.
Members of the association, who belong to the Teachers and Educational Workers' Union (TEWU-TUC), say repeated efforts to secure payment have yielded no results.
Speaking to the media, Eastern Regional Chairman Ebo Amoah called on the government to provide a clear timeline and payment plan for the settlement of the outstanding allowances.
