The Ga East Municipal Assembly says it will begin demolishing structures built on waterways as part of efforts to prevent flooding in the municipality.
The Environmental Health Officer for Dome-Kwabenya, Ing. Charles Asabreh Ampomah, said occupants of the affected structures have been given until Thursday, July 16, to vacate before the demolition exercise begins.
The Assembly says the move forms part of measures to restore waterways, improve drainage flow and reduce the risk of flooding in flood-prone areas.
