The Security and Watchmen Association of the Ghana Education Service is demanding payment of outstanding weekend and public holiday overtime allowances, saying the arrears have remained unpaid for more than a decade.
The group is calling on the government to provide a clear roadmap for settling the outstanding payments, which they say have accumulated over several years.
The workers say addressing the issue will help improve their welfare and resolve long-standing concerns within the education sector's labour force.
