Top Story: Parliament Divided Over Dennis Miracles Aboagye’s GH¢50m Bail Conditions

Top Story with Kenneth Gyasi on Joy 99.7 FM examines the political and legal showdown over the arrest and continued detention of Dennis Miracles Aboagye.

Parliament erupted into fierce debate as the Minority and Majority clashed over the GH¢50 million bail conditions imposed on the former Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD), who remains in EOCO custody despite being granted bail.

Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin is demanding the immediate appearance of the Attorney General before Parliament to answer questions over what he describes as excesses by EOCO, while the Majority insists due process has been followed and no wrongdoing has occurred.

Meanwhile, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has condemned the bail conditions as oppressive, excessive and unconstitutional, insisting it has secured the required sureties and is awaiting EOCO's verification before Mr. Aboagye's release.
